We thought it would be awhile before we would have news like this to share again, but the Lord had other plans for us. Somewhere around January 24th we will welcome another sweet Miller baby into our family, giving us two babies under the age of two! I'm 12 weeks along and at times it still just doesn't feel real.

Here's a quick recap of our journey so far......We returned from Matt's Birthday trip to California thinking something was just a little off. I was extra sensitive during our flights, always having to have the handy bag ready during take off and landings. We both had flashbacks to traveling during my pregnancy with Hannah Cate. I've never had cycles like clock work so the fact that I might be a little "late" wasn't too concerning to me either. However, those two things combined with my extra tiredness made us think it was probably a good idea to grab a pregnancy test during the next trip to the grocery store. The day after we got back from our trip I picked up a test at the store. I was completely convinced that this was a formality, just a part of the process of elimination to figure out what (if anything) was really wrong with me. I was so convinced, that I took the test while Matt was still at work completely expecting to call and tell him I was not pregnant. Well, you can imagine my surprise when that extra line immediatley appeared on the test. In fact, it appeared so fast that I had to read the box several times to make sure I was reading it correctly. Surely that line, in that position meant negative, not positive. Nope, positive it was. I was shocked, really shocked.

I didn't call Matt, but he called me two hours later and immediately wanted to know if I had taken the test. I lied and told him no, that I wanted to wait until he got home. I didn't want to tell him over the phone and I knew if I told him that I had taken it but didn't tell him it was negative that he would know. I wanted to see his reaction in person. I guess he was not so certain as me that the test would be negative, because he came home right away. As soon as he walked in the door my face gave it away. And from there we started to imagine just how much our lives were about to change.....again!

If you have ever asked me about when we might want to have another, I told you that we would likely wait until Hannah Cate was two before thinking about another baby. My plan and timing never changed, but the Lord had a different plan in mind for our family. I am thankful and would take His plan over mine any day. It has taken some getting used to, but we are excited and ready for this new adventure! I know that the Lord goes before us and prepares us for what is ahead. While we were at The Ranch, we were able to spend some time with Jen LeDuc and her girls (Selah and Ansley). They are precious girls who are very close in age (around 18 months apart). While we were visiting, Jen asked us if we were ready for another baby. Of course not knowing, I quickly replied with my standard answer of "not until Hannah Cate is two". Jen proceeded to tell us how much she loved having the girls close in age and how well they play together and how easy it is for her to parent them together. Of course she was not trying to pressure us or convice us that her way was best, but I believe it wasn't an accident that she shared those quick thoughts with us. For the first time, I thought to myself that it would be fun to have children close together in age. Thank you Lord for going before us and preparing our hearts for what we had no idea was just around the corner!

We have been to the doctor twice now and have been given two good reports. We are thankful for the beginnings of a healthy baby and look forward to finding out girl or boy at the end of August. It's amazing how different this pregnancy has been than my pregnancy with Hannah Cate, both physically and mentally. I have felt different, nothing too terrible, but different than I felt with her. Other than the physical side effects, which are starting to subside, I sometimes forget I'm even pregnant.....I never did that with Hannah Cate! It's amazing what having a one year old occupying your time will do!
