Pink or Blue Party

In keeping with the Fairhope baby tradition started by the Nebrigs and continued by the Chappells, we had our friends over last Thursday for a Pink or Blue party to make the big annoucement!

Everyone chose their cupcake color of choice based on their prediction

As you can see, far more people predicted girl. Though I will say that the majority of my family (with the exception of my Dad) thought it was a boy.

Matt had a pink cupcake and I had a blue one. The one of us that actually took a bite was announcing boy or girl. Matt took his bite and the secret was out!

Hannah Cate has no idea, she was just glad to get to have a bite of cupcake (frosting really)!

And now let me show you just another reason why it's a really good thing we are having another girl. Below is a picture of friends that we very commonly hang out with. Above their heads shows the number of children that they have and the gender.
I didn't leave out any baby girls....Hannah Cate is the only one! We needed another little girl added to this circle! If you could have heard the volume of noise in my house the other night, you would have surely agreed. Now I love all of those sweet boys, don't get me wrong, but boys just take it up a notch!

This Time for Real!

It's a GIRL! Another sweet baby girl for The Millers. We are thrilled and have had so much fun picturing two little bow-headed girls running around our house! I just know that Hannah Cate and baby girl 2 will be the best of friends. I have loved having a sister and am so glad that we can give one to Hannah Cate. Poor Matt will be a little out numbered, but he's really a sucker for girls so he will do just fine! The baby is growing and healthy and for that we are most thankful!

We had our friends come over on Thursday night for a little pink and blue dessert party, so I'll post those pictures as soon as I get them off my camera.

Next up, her name! We're pretty set on her name, I just need to work on the exact way that we'll spell it.

It's a Boy!

CONNOR MICHAEL KELLUM
August 10, 2009

We went up to Birmingham for the birth of baby "unknown gender" Kellum. I'll have to say, for me, it was painful not knowing throughout Jami's pregnancy if they were having a boy or girl but it made for a really fun and exciting delivery day! I was totally wrong on my guess, as I was convinced the entire time that they were having a girl. We are thankful for a healthy and thriving baby Connor and a healthy new Mama (and Daddy)!

Michael came out to share the news, It's a Boy!

Our first chance to see Connor
Already a thinker....just like his Mama!
I love these two people so much and can't wait to watch this baby boy grow up. I'm kind of already planning an arranged marriage in my head!

PS- Did I trick you at first, did you think I was talking about our new baby? Well, stay tuned, we find out tomorrow!

Sunday Brunch

We went to Sunday Brunch at The Grand with B and Pops yesterday after church. It's certainly not for the faint of heart (based on the massive amounts of food and the bill that comes at the end) but it's a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. It's worth doing once in your life or maybe every Sunday. We loved our waitress, Kelly (ask for her if you ever go), and she told us that there is a man that has been coming to Sunday Brunch at The Grand for over 20 years! I have no idea how his wallet or waist line can take it, but it must be nice!

Hannah Cate had a great time getting loved on by B and Pops and watching the New Orleans style jazz band that walks around the dining room playing.
She was a little uncertain at first
But then she got to dancing and became their biggest fan

Even adding her own round of applause at the end!

This is her new favorite, she loves to point out and evaluate ears!

You might notice the ever present pink blanket looking thing in all of these pictures. It has become quite the favorite! She has two actually, that can be used interchangeably even though one is a bunny and one is a pig. Matt named the pig, Theodore and we call him Theo for short. I named the bunny and her name is Prissy. I thought with a lovie named Theo we needed something a little more girly! Prissy and Theo are very popular around our house and they even make a public appearance from time to time, especially on days like this when we are pushing the limits on nap time!

Sunday Best

My pretty girl!

After telling her how pretty she is, Mimi (my Mom) always reminds her that "pretty isn't everything" so we are trying to keep her balanced!
But she sure is pretty!

I was making a fuss over Hannah Cate in her new dress yesterday. I think she caught on that she was looking pretty and thought the occassion called for something a little more.

Before I knew it, she had crawled over to the china cabinet and pulled out this Waterford vase...And proceeded to use it like a sippy cup.
"Please Mom, I can't be using that orange plastic cup with this pretty dress and silver bracelet, okay?"

I think we are in for it!

Mover and a Shaker

Hannah Cate has finally decided that she might want to try this whole walking thing. She started with her lion push toy (that Mimi gave her for her Birthday), moved on to her other push toys and now she's taking a few steps at a time on her own (but only when it suits her).

I can't say I'm in a real rush for her to truly be walking; I know everthing will change at that point!

Sorry these pictures are in pretty random order, blogger wasn't letting me re-arrange for some reason and I finally just gave up!
