Why I am not Blogging

I've been trying, I really have. Having two "babies" is work, hard work. It's keeping us very busy. Here's just a short and quick example of why I just can't find the time to blog.

Thank goodness they are both so cute and loveable. It makes times like this one laughable!

Hopefully we'll be having less of these type moments and I can tell you more about the good things that are going on around here soon!

Definition of Patience

If you want to test your patience, try to take pictures of a newborn. Not just any pictures, but really, really incredible pictures! I really haven't had any professional pictures of Hannah Cate done and I decided that I want to start now and get pictures of both of them together. I had no idea just exactly what goes into those sweet newborn pictures I always see. Then couple that with trying to get a 19 month old in the picture with the newborn and you just might pull your hair out. I almost did, but our sweet photographer didn't bat an eye!

Dr. Shoemaker (my OBGYN) introduced me to Aimee Reynolds and it's been such a pleasure to work with her. She is the definition of patience and her work is wonderful! She came over on Thursday to take pictures of both girls. She sent me a "sneak peek" on Friday and I'm so excited to see the rest!

Aimee works all over Baldwin county (and I would assume Mobile) so check her out if you are in need of a good photographer.....I promise she won't disappoint! http://www.aimeereynoldsphotography.com/

Big and Little

Hannah Cate came to the hospital to meet her little sister the day after she was born. When she came in and saw her, she immediately said "Awwwww".

She really has been so sweet to her and all signs point to the fact that she already loves her little sister.

This was the reaction I got when I walked through the door on Wednesday. What a welcome and way to warm a Mama's heart. I was afraid she was going to be mad at me for leaving her. Of course it certainly helped that she was in such good and fun hands with Mimi and Aunt Emily!

The adjustment so far hasn't been without a few little bumps, but fortunately all the bumps have been directed towards us (the big people) and not baby sister!
Hannah Cate loves to give her kisses and point out her nose, eyes and hair. She likes to remind us to "Shhhh" when the baby is sleeping and she always wants to look at her when she comes into the room or realizes Madelyn is around.

I'm pretty sure we are going to be just fine and based on baby sister's smile in the picture below.....I think she agrees!

I just can't wait to watch these girls grow up together, what a priveledge we have!

01-11-10

Tomorrow is January 11th, the day of our second daughter's birth. We'll be heading to the hospital in the morning for a scheduled induction. I'm ready, Matt's ready and according to Dr. Shoemaker, Madelyn is ready too. It feels a bit surreal to know that we'll go to sleep tonight and wake up in the morning and head to the hospital to have a baby!

I can't wait to see how this new and precious life will change our family. I can't wait to see what she will look like and if she will look like her Big Sister. Maybe we'll get a red-head this time? I can't wait to see how Hannah Cate reacts to her Little Sister and I'm just praying for a smooth adjustment for her.

I can't wait to introduce her to you soon.....so stay tuned!
