Few Words

Maddie has proven to fit the mold of a second child based on many things I've read and heard from other parents. The development of her motor skills have come much faster than Hannah Cates did, but her vocabulary is vastly different than when Hannah Cate was her age. Nothing I'm worried about at this point, but it's interesting to notice the differences and then factor in birth order.

She's a woman of few words, but the ones that she does say ususally have meaning and she says them with passion!

The two that we hear the most......couldn't be more polar from each other.

Sweet Maddie says "thank you" right on cue anytime you hand her something or do something that she wanted you to do. It's about the sweetest thing I've ever heard coming from her 17 month old mouth. It's not something we set out to teach her either - she just picked it up along the way and she's more consistent in saying it than Hannah Cate is even now!

Then there is aggressive Maddie, who is quick to remind you (forcefully) that something is "MINE". Her paci, sippy cup, toy, book - most of the time are referred to as "MINE". It's not a sweet "MINE" either, it's loud and proud and in charge.

At least after you give her what's "MINE" she says "Thank you"!

She keeps us in stitches most of the time around here!

I say this everytime, but I miss ya'll!!!

And I don't believe for a second that my sweet niece Maddie that was such an angel when we kept her a few weeks ago could ever be forceful or mean. :-)

Love you all!!!
